Our local fair was last weekend. I don't know how i spent $300 in 2 days with nothing to show for it. But the kids had a good time. My son was the "Prince of Town" last yr. he got a nice crown and a nice trophy and the most important. he was in the parade. Tossing candy to the Town was the highlight of the ride for him. This yr he was the one to "pass the crown" so he got to get up on stage and ceremoniously place the crown on the new prince.

With him being prince that makes me KING. I AM KING YOU SHOULD ALL PAY YOUR TAXES OR ILL SEND THE SHERRIFF ARROUND TO SEE YOU



My daughter in in a cardboard boat race next week. so for the past few weeks my friends and i have been slinging glue to cardboard and forming a nice boat. It will hold me and a couple of my friends so i think it will hold 2 young girls for a 30 min race around the local pond. The girls are to be painting it this weekend, im heading over to put on the final layers of boardstock here in a few.. i just need to wake up.

My youngest has to go to ST Louis to see a damn specialist for an irregular blood test.. my Damn HMO doesn't have anyone within an hrs drive that we can go to. so Mrs Drain and i have to spend the day in the city so we can go to (what is going to turn out to be) a 2 hrs wait in a waiting room with a 15 min meeting witht he doc.

Hey - you might as well make a day of it at that rate. Go to the zoo (free entry even!) or something. All of a sudden, 2 hours wait will almost seem worth it.

Boat race in 2 hrs.
All the skulls have been painted on.. the layers have had more layers added to them. We are ready to go.. all i have to do is pickup smokes and some beers. Its going to be a party.

I gave the Skulls Fangs ... as an homage to us all.

2 days ago my boss told me horrible news.
im getting kicked off my my shift and they are doing away with my section. I know i shoould just be happy i still have a job, but i tried to hard to get away from shift work. and it stings to have to go back to it.
It is not at the insane asylum, its still desk work but it will be weekends and holidays again.


Misty is working in my old line of work and she just got knocked to the evening shift. Which brings its own set of problems namely if she gets Mandated and is forced to work a double shift no one will be home durring the night to watch the Drainlings.

But on a more pleasant note. i may be going back to school. i know i don't have the time and funds to go as often nor as long as Gabe. but i may put some classes under my dirty belt.

ok. its official. i start my new midnight job in a week and 1 day. It sounds great..Ill work in a state computer room switching tape cartrages all night by myself. alone. Quite. no other person to talk to.

So i can make my world domination plans.

but i have a bid in for a better paying day job with a Grouchy SOB who likes me and thinks i have a sharp mind. The 2 ppl in line for the job are me and my boss. I was pulled off to the side and told by the Grouchy SOB that he wants me in the job becuase i have a better grasp on the work.

My dad took a nightjob once as a security guard when my little brother came along. He started smoking a pipe to pass the time. I recommend you do the same.

My first week in the new job is over, and i about have the whole thing down. This ressision aint touchin me. I feel very bad for everyone else though.

I still have a good lead on a better job. my name is moving up the list, last i heard i was 4 down and they were crossing ppl off just to get to me.


The guys at my current job on the evening shift ( i think) are not to happy that i am there, i have taken away all of the overtime that they were getting for the last 2 yrs. My position has been vacant for at least that long so overtime was needed every year. I can understand where they are comming from but they shouldn't be mad at me I was offered the job. Im sure i will butter them up with my winning personality so i am not worried.

Ok. i got a new job (again). im off of midnights as of the first of the year. i get a nice raise. (which just off sets the shift differential i was getting on midnights) and i get to see my kids everynight and go to all of the evening programs. instead of sleeping and being a grouchy bear.
