Do I know that lyrics threads are played out? Hell yes! But Affie is out of town on business....I've got a wedding weighing down on me, we're trying to find a house and I'm losing my job in two months...and I'm drunk. So read these goddamned amazing lyrics by the brilliant Kris Kristofferson and be amazed you peons! Lovin' Her Was Easier Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again - Kris Kristofferson I have seen the morning burning golden on the moutain in the skies, Achin' with the feeling of the freedom of an eagle when she flies. Turnin' on the world the way she smiled upon my soul as I lay dyin', Healin' as the colors in the sunshine and shadows of her eyes. Wakin' in the mornin' to the feelin' of her fingers on my skin, Wipin' out the traces of the people and the places that I've been. Teachin' me that yesterday was something that I never thought of tryin', Talkin' about tomorrow and the money love and time we've got to spend. Lovin' her was easier than anything I'll ever do again. Comin' close together with a feelin' that I've never known before in my time, She ain't ashamed to be a woman or afraid to be a friend. I don't know the answer to the easy way she's opened every door in my mind, Dreamin' was easy as believin' it was never gonna end. Lovin' her was easier than anything I'll ever do again. |

Wow...groggy today... Anyway, I don't think that was Kris Kristofferson. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convoy_(song) His lyrics are normally pretty poetic/deep. I would be shocked (and amused!) if he had written Convoy! :) |

Well I woke up Sunday morning, With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt. And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, So I had one more for dessert. Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes, And found my cleanest dirty shirt. An' I shaved my face and combed my hair, An' stumbled down the stairs to meet the day. I'd smoked my brain the night before, On cigarettes and songs I'd been pickin'. But I lit my first and watched a small kid, Cussin' at a can that he was kicking. Then I crossed the empty street, 'n caught the Sunday smell of someone fryin' chicken. And it took me back to somethin', That I'd lost somehow, somewhere along the way. On the Sunday morning sidewalk, Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned. 'Cos there's something in a Sunday, Makes a body feel alone. And there's nothin' short of dyin', Half as lonesome as the sound, On the sleepin' city sidewalks: Sunday mornin' comin' down. In the park I saw a daddy, With a laughin' little girl who he was swingin'. And I stopped beside a Sunday school, And listened to the song they were singin'. Then I headed back for home, And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'. And it echoed through the canyons, Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday. Do do do do do do do do, Do do do do do do do, Do do do do do do do do, Do do do do do do do. |

No, Kris didn't write the song Convoy, he starred in the film which features and was inspired by the song. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convoy_%281978_film%29 |

And I heard, as it were, the noise of thunder: One of the four beasts saying: “Come and see.” And I saw. And behold, a white horse. There’s a man goin’ ’round takin’ names. An’ he decides who to free and who to blame. Everybody won’t be treated all the same. There’ll be a golden ladder reaching down. When the man comes around. The hairs on your arm will stand up. At the terror in each sip and in each sup. For you partake of that last offered cup, Or disappear into the potter’s ground. When the man comes around. Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers. One hundred million angels singin’. Multitudes are marching to the big kettle drum. Voices callin’, voices cryin’. Some are born an’ some are dyin’. It’s Alpha’s and Omega’s Kingdom come. And the whirlwind is in the thorn tree. The virgins are all trimming their wicks. The whirlwind is in the thorn tree. It’s hard for thee to kick against the pricks. Till Armageddon, no Shalam, no Shalom. Then the father hen will call his chickens home. The wise men will bow down before the throne. And at his feet they’ll cast their golden crown. When the man comes around. Whoever is unjust, let him be unjust still. Whoever is righteous, let him be righteous still. Whoever is filthy, let him be filthy still. Listen to the words long written down, When the man comes around. Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers. One hundred million angels singin’. Multitudes are marchin’ to the big kettle drum. In measured hundredweight and penny pound. When the man comes around. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts, And I looked and behold: a pale horse. And his name, that sat on him, was Death. And Hell followed with him. |
