O-----k
After 3 weeks of sneaking, using people as decoys and generally being a Social Ninja I finally got things into motion.
Booked a table at an Italian restaurant we both loved, arranged Jenny's dad to drive us into town and back so Jenny could relax and have a drink. Led her to the restaurant, still unaware of why we were even going out.
Ordered some wine, ordered what, as expected, was a fantastic example of Italian cooking. Had originally planned to propose in the Italian but decided for something more private.
We walked through the "Minster" quarter of York, enjoying each other's company etc etc. Then we reached the Minster and after some supremely cheesy lines I got down on one knee and proposed.
She was in shock at first, then she shrieked "Of course I'll marry you!", she cried, then cried a bit more. Then we started ringing parents/siblings/friends etc.
Agreeing finally to go for some champagne, we decided against that and instead went to her mum's for a cuppa tea :) Typical Yorkshire lass! :D
Nothing spectacular for most, but I had a wonderful night and now have a wonderful woman as my fiancee :)

That's wonderful to hear Porter, albeit a belated reception. You've been talking about that girl for quite some time, glad to see you're tying the knot. :D
