on wendsday i (against my better judgement) went out to the bar. I missed half of the party at my mother -in- laws.

I ate too damned much.

I thought it was the type of occasion where too much food was de rigueur.

Yes, that is true, but it is ultimately the choice of the binger as to how much to eat.
