Just got back from seeing the final episode of the Star Wars saga.

And I must say I left the cinema feeling one thing.

Sad.

Why? Was it crap?

No.

I was sad because I loved every minute of it. After fearing the worst after the previous travesties, I was gobsmacked. Lucas actually pulled it off!

Sure some acting was a little hokey, but the originals weren't exavtly Oscar winning performances.

But the film had it all in spades. Fantastic lightsaber duels, space battles, romance, tragedy, loss, The Force.

Everything was just right.

Now all I want to do is sit down and watch all 6!

:x

I'm in agreement with you. :)

It was a great experience. The epic has finally been completed. Well done George.

I was disappointed...but then again it is the film that you have to see for the final answers....who....why....and what ......i personally think that Lucas has gone overboard on special effects this time ........if there's 50 stormtroopers ...i want to see 50 not 10 and the rest in computer effects......anyway thats what I think .

Spoiler alert (highlight to read):

[color=black:e6b70b72b2]I like that they tied up loose ends but couldn't help feeling the mind erase on C3P0 was a bit lame. Almost like ending a book with "it was all a dream".[/color:e6b70b72b2]

That aside I thought it was on par with Empire.

It was darker than Empire. But I think it was more akin to Jedi in terms of quality. As for 3PO's wipe, he had to be wiped for it to make sense in a New Hope.

I personally loved it! Great FX, great battle sequences. The biz!

I agree, hence my comment about tying up loose ends. I just thought they could've done it differently. Not just "oh and you there, mind erase the robot".

I guess.

My only other grip was how gay Vader looks at the end whilst screaming in rage.

Wasn't there a commercial that had Vader screaming like that? For some dumb reason I think it had something to do with the Energizer Bunny, but I may be wrong.
